Drawing upon her main influences: the Arts and Craft & Art Nouveau Movements, as well as children's stories and illustrations, Ann Gee has found a way to create original paintings that are fresh as well as spellbinding to view.
Fluid movement, intricate detail and strong narration are the principle elements she looks to recreate in her work.
The artist works with gouache, casein, watercolors, acrylic ink and likes to limit her palette; usually using only 10-20 colors in each painting, as a means of focusing in on her love of color. The hand lettered words found in her work represents each figure's personality or attitude.
The artist resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
