Born in Martinez, Ga, Antonio Garnett has been creating art and music since the age of six. He began to take art seriously in middle school when he won a prize for being the most creative student in the city. Self-taught, Antonio's favorite medium is acrylic, and his work has an almost european old world feel. He believes his work is spiritually driven as he paints portraits of people he has never met and places he has never seen. He considers Romare Bearden, Elizabeth Catlett and Ernie Gaines among his sources of inspiration. He attended Georgia State University.
The artist currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
