Join us, as we kick off our 2006 season with what promises to be one of Atlanta’s most refreshing art shows. From 7 to 11 PM, enjoy wine and light hors d’oeuvres as you browse the art work.
Gallery owner & Curator Terence E. Jackson had a mission when he conceived the show: Challenge artists and collectors to reevaluate their own philosophy when it comes to canvas size (the largest works for the show are 4 x 4 inches). “This show is about confronting myths” - This was my way of saying to artist’s “If you’re so good, then you should be able to work on any blank canvas, no matter the size,” says Jackson.
Featuring the striking works of more than 25 national & international artists, Jackson asked each of them the age old question - “Does Size Really Count?” (When it comes to their work… that is.) Just wait until you see the answer. Jackson admits, “Even I was surprised at how eager artist’s were to not use so much space - They have created works that are quirky, complex, and just plan brilliant to look at.”
In keeping with the gallery’s premise of making original art affordable to the majority, U*Space Gallery is slowly builting a reputation as an important artistic center in Georgia that is inclusive instead of exclusive.
Art pricing for the show will begin as low as $15.00. The exhibit runs through April 15 in the gallery & May 9th (online)
