Danny Davini's abstract work has an existential quality that challenges and lures the viewer into searching for relationships that may elucidate or deny the
unexplainable. The bold use of color, a Davini staple, suggests a simplicity and immediacy that evokes trust and a sense of knowing the artist. Paradise and pain, interconnectedness and stark isolation flow from his palette.
"I tend to paint fast and mix my colors as I go. Texture, lines, and certain blends are made with everything from sticks to sandpaper. I will scrape and area with a razor blade, use steel wool, spray with a garden hose, whatever it takes to get the results I am looking for. I try to use textures and colors to evoke responses as opposed to subject matter alone."
