THE FREE WILL ENSEMBLE

Born out of performances conducted through our *Artlab series; The Free Will Ensemble will serve as an atelier for the expansion of those experiments. The project will bring together a wide range of creative conjurers of different ethnicities and disciplines to construct highly stylized theatrical experiences.

October 6-29, 2017 at the Star Theatre in the historic West End of Atlanta, Georgia.

Definition – (From the word Simulacrum) Plural:
Something slight, unreal, or superficial in likeness or semblance.
Simulacra centers around three siblings who revert to playing intellectual word games with each other in an attempt at masking their true feelings. But as the play unfolds, it becomes apparent that to rely solely on the fallibility of memory can be a tricky thing, especially when it is shaped by the siblings selfish needs and manipulative fictions.

Stage Manager - Colette V. Paul

A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Miss Paul is the author of Butterflies Dance in the Rain and For Your Eyes Only. She is the creator and co-producer for Thundermuzik Media Group and served as co-developer and production Assistant for The House That Atlanta Built.

Trained in the Meisner technique, Miss Paul has been seen on the Atlanta stage as Girlfriend/Rena in August Wilson’s Jitney, George Gray in Spoon River Monologue and as Madam C.J. Walker in her one woman show based on the first African-American Millionaire. On film Miss Paul can be seen playing Mother/Geneva in director Al Johnson’s Hem Line. She has been honored with a Sea Island Writer’s Retreat Scholarship in 2006 and won the Georgia Lottery Corporation’s Best Script Writer 2006.
