ARTIST STATEMENT -

Having currently moved to a larger studio to take on most of my work. I have been working alone as a professional artist for more than six years. Most of my work depicts my inner demons and fears that have been with me for quite some time. It is a raw expression of what is going on deep inside my head. Most of my work so far has been symbolic in dealing with I and what most humans fear the most, Death which I depict with what I call my "Death Clock." It has always been something that has haunted me and intrigued me.

Some of my recent work has also been slightly political which is something I do not usually do but I feel in light of recent world events I felt it necessary. I invite my viewers to make up there own ideas or opinions about what I am trying to convey to them.

My work in the last two years has been very surreal. Described by my fans as "Cartoon surrealism." I feel for the most part this is correct because as far as my personal tastes go I enjoy art that is completely disconnected visually from real life or "realism" as much as possible. A lot of my work is done without any pre-sketches. Most of it is just based off of a feeling that I get or emotion that I am feeling at the time that kind of forces its way out in paint form. My paintings are usually completed very fast within two to three hours and are very raw and emotional in the way they look at the end. Most of my past paintings have dealt with the darker side of the emotional scope, dealing with loneliness, sadness and depression and the feeling related with that. An art form that I call "Depressionism." If you would like to know more my official website is www.depressionism.net.

I believe that art like this is art that changes our lives and our way of thinking when we view it. I also believe that an artist can have more of an impact on society as a whole then any politician or political figurehead. As far as the future I would like to have the chance to show my work to the world.

"I'm not a "tight-ass" painter and I usually never do any pre-opt sketches or planning."

The artist currently reside in Spokane, Washington.
