Unlike traditional quilts composed of 3 separate layers; she pieces, appliqués and embroiders directly on a layered foundation of fabric and quilt batting which results in immediate dimensionality. "The improvisational collage style of composing allows me the freedom to explore and discover unexpected evolutions of the content and meaning behind the metaphorical imagery. While the metaphoric images have specific meaning to me, they are also enigmatic in that the viewer can bring their own personal experience to their interpretation."
